Dear students looking forward to seeing you at Cober Hill, near Scarborough for an exciting weeks painting,
Please arrive at 3PM on Monday, bring your equipment to the Joseph Rowntree room, I will be there to greet you.
Here’s example of an outline for the week

You can mix the above in any media you like, or you can use your own references with my help.
For the water colour exercises – use quarter imperial paper, I use Saunders Waterford or Bockingford, 600 GMS (300lb)
You will require watercolours in either pan of tubes. I use a warm and cool of each primary
Cadmium Red, Permanent Rose, Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean blue or Azure Blue, Lemon Yellow and Cadmium Yellow, Additional colours – Yellow Ocher, Cobalt Violet, and Burnt sienna.
Watercolour Brushes, drawing board, kitchen towel, masking fluid and table covering.
Acrylics – similar acrylic colours as the watercolour colours, and a larger tube of System 3 acrylic white. A Canvas or board approx.18 x 20 INS, Acrylic brushes, old plate for mixing, permanent black felt tip. Apron,
Collage – board, card or canvas 18 x 20 approx. PVA Glue, old brush and embellishments
Acrylic and oil exercise, you will need approx. A3 card, acrylic and oil pastel, Sennelier are the best
The course fee does not include materials; students are responsible for bringing materials,
I will have watercolour paper and pastel papers for students wishing to do pastels.
If you want me to bring an easel or drawing board, please let me know beforehand
I will have handouts for each exercise.
