What to expect on your Painting Holiday with Sue Ford and Greek Island Painting Trips.

The Basics

Good standard Hotel/Studio accommodation in the lovely village location of Myrties

Use of local hotel swimming pools for a small fee

A choice of beaches close by

Buffet Breakfast at a centrally located hotel

Lunches on painting days/day trip so 6 lunches in all

A welcome dinner on the first day and a celebratory dinner on the last evening – wine included

Transport to and from the port on arrival/departure

All transport to painting locations including coaches, taxis, boats and ferries whichever is appropriate

A short island tour on the first day including lunch to see some of the island we just cannot fit in anywhere

else

English guides – Liz and John who have lived on the island for nearly 18 years

Day 1 Arrival day – generally a late evening and we meet everyone at the port and accompany them

to their accommodation. We provide tea/coffee and water as a small starter pack

Day 2 Sightseeing Tour

Coach Trip around some of the island stopping at Aggia Savvas (St Sebastian) Monastery for some views and

photo op (see photos) and on to Vlyhadia for a light lunch and a quick dip (not obligatory) and then back to

Myrties.

We then host the welcome meal at a local taverna at around 7.30 to catch the sunset.

Day 3 Let the Painting Commence

Spending a morning around the local area of Myrties which offers lots of painting opportunities. If you wish

we can use one of the local tavernas for a base so you can do a demo, get to know them as painters or

however you want to play it. We will organise lunch at Smugglers. Free afternoon.

Day 4 Telendos

Full day on the wonderful, peaceful island of Telendos . We will travel over on the ferry. It takes only 10

minutes and base ourselves at Kapsoulis Taverna where I am happy to remain with the bags. Telendos offers

ruins, boats, café scenes etc etc. We will break for lunch and then continue on to about 4. The ferries run

every half hour so people are free to stay longer if they wish.

Day 5 Pothia

Transport will be coach or taxis to our main town. Interesting architecture with Italian influences from the

past. Lovely back streets with plenty of interest or go large with the main Orthodox Church! Lunch

Day 6 Emborios

Transport by boat or coach (weather forecast permitting) giving a wonderful view on our way to this lovely

resort where we will spend the morning/lunch at Harry’s Bar where flowers abound. Lunch will be there and

then we can remain for the afternoon session or walk down to the seafront.

Day 7 Vathy

Couch Trip to this lovely location with its soaring Fjord-like entrance (A painting geologist once told me what

it really is!) Cafes, boats, trees and a wonderful hidden painting place. Returning after lunch

Celebratory Meal at a Local Taverna Avra with lovely views over Telendos – it is about a 15 minute stroll

from Myrties

Day 8 and Time to go home

We arrange transfers to the port of Pothia and are there to ensure everyone’s safe depart
